Yale changes letterhead to recycled paper

It's purely serendipity that Yale is announcing it will now use recycled paper for its official letterhead just in time for the second annual America Recycles Day on Sunday, Nov. 15. However, the decision does fit in with the theme of this year's celebration: "If you're not buying recycled, you're not really recycling."

John Gambell, the newly appointed University printer, worked with the Yale Purchasing and Recycling departments in selecting a high quality paper from Neenah. The new letterhead paper has the same appearance as previous letterheads and contains
25 percent cotton fiber and 30 percent post-consumer recycled paper, meeting the guidelines the federal government has set for its own purchases.

While Yale faculty and staff have always had access to recycled paper options through Reprographics & Imaging Services, this decision now makes recycled paper the official letterhead. The new letterhead paper will be available before the end of November.
