Museum hosts recreation of 'Dances for a Building' As part of the first-year anniversary of its opening, the Yale Center for British Art asked choreographer Rika Burnham to create a dance reflecting the architectural structure of the museum. The resulting work, "Dances for a Building," was performed at the center on April 22, 1979. This year, to mark the reopening of the British Art Center after a year-long closing for renovations, the museum has invited back the choreographer to reconstruct the original performance of the dance piece. "Museum Pieces IV or Dances for a Building: The Yale Center for British Art" will be performed at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, in the library court of the British Art Center, 1080 Chapel St. As was the case 20 years ago, joining Burnham for the Yale performance will be poet Howard Levy, author of the book "Shaving Marlow's Face." Dancers Christopher Caines, Alan Good and Linda Seifert will also be featured in the performances, which will be introduced by Danielle Rice, curator of education at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
