Search committee for dean of engineering
President Richard C. Levin has announced the establishment of a committee to help him in the search for a new dean of engineering. D. Allan Bromley, Sterling Professor of the Sciences, will step down as dean at the end of this academic year.
President Levin will serve as chair of the search committee. Other members include: Menachem Elimelich, the Llewellyn West Jones Jr. Professor of Environmental Engineering; Gary Haller, the Becton Professor of Engineering and Applied Science and professor of chemical engineering; Susan Hockfield, dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and professor of neurobiology; Pierre Hohenberg, deputy provost for science and technology; Lisa Pfefferle, professor and chair of chemical engineering; Mark Reed, the Harold Hodgkinson Professor of Engineering and Applied Science and chair of electrical engineering; Mitchell Smooke, the Strathcona Professor of Mechanical Engineering and chair of the department; Katepalli Sreenivasan, the Harold W. Cheel Professor of Mechanical Engineering; A. Douglas Stone, professor and chair of applied physics; Jerry Woodall, the C. Baldwin Sawyer Professor of Electrical Engineering; Steven Zucker, the David and Lucile Packard Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and director of the division of physical sciences and Engineering; and Wolf Yeigh, assistant provost for science and technology.
Members of the Yale community are invited to contact the committee members with their suggestions, nominations or comments concerning the selection of the next dean of engineering.
