The three finalists of the School of Nursing's contest for holiday card designs were honored at a reception on Nov. 1. Nursing School Dean Catherine Lynch Gillis is pictured with the winners in three grade categories: (from left) second-grader Erin Ugas of St. Brendan's School, sixth-grader Melissa McKernon, also of St. Brendan's, and eighth-grader Hannah Baker of West Hills Magnet School. The students designed their entries on the theme of caring. McKernon won the grand prize with her card "A Nurse = Love." All of the contest participants received certificates and thank-you gifts, with prizes supplied by The Yale Bookstore, Kaye's Art Shop and the Eli Whitney Museum.
