Paul Hawkshaw, professor of music and associate dean of the School of Music, gave the keynote address at a conference held in Vienna Nov. 11-13 commemorating the 175th anniversary of the birth of composer Anton Bruckner.
The event, held in the University of Vienna building where Bruckner taught harmony and counterpoint, was sponsored by the Anton Bruckner Institute of Linz and the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
An expert on Bruckner who has edited five volumes of the composer's works, Hawkshaw spoke about Bruckner's "Psalms."
