Kennedy to discuss 'Global Century' series

Historian Paul M. Kennedy will introduce the first book in the series "The Global Century" on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 1:30 p.m. at the Yale Bookstore, 77 Broadway, New Haven.

Kennedy oversees the series, which is being published by W.W. Norton & Company. The series explores the underlying forces shaping the century from a world-wide point of view.

Kennedy will discuss the first volume, "One World Divisible: A Global History Since 1945." The Yale historian's own volume for the series, titled "States and Peoples: International Affairs in the Twentieth Century," will be released later this year.

W.W. Norton president and Yale alumnus Donald Lamm will introduce Kennedy at the event, which is free and open to the public.
