Victoria Nolan, managing director of the Yale Repertory Theatre and the School of Drama, has been selected by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts to receive its Elizabeth L. Mahaffey Arts Administration Fellowship for the year 2000.
The $2,500 fellowship recognizes Nolan's abilities in arts management, her commitment to community outreach and her dedication to mentoring future arts leaders.
"Victoria Nolan superbly exemplifies the dedicated arts management professionals that the Commission on the Arts wishes to recognize and encourage further in their careers," said John Ostrout, executive director of the commission. "She has been a key player in the development of New Haven's Arts Industry Coalition, insuring that cultural institutions are an integral part of community planning and decision making. Vicki is a nationally recognized theater manager, and we are fortunate to have her high level of expertise guiding the arts in Connecticut." Nolan is also associate professor in theater management at the School of Drama.
