Men's Basketball (7-16, 5-5 Ivy)

The Bulldogs dropped a 77-72 decision at Dartmouth on Feb. 18 in Hanover, NH. Yale shot 47.5% (28 of 59) from the field and had four players score in double figures, led by sophomore Onaje Woodbine (Boston, MA), who had 19 points. Junior Neil Yanke (Akron, OH) added 17 points and 10 rebounds, his fifth double-double of the season. Junior Tom Kritzer (West Chester, OH) made all five of his shots and had 11 points.

On Feb. 19 the Bulldogs lost 70-51 at Harvard. Freshman Chris Leanza (Parma, OH) had a team-high 10 points, and senior Ted Smith (New York, NY) added nine points and a career-high eight rebounds.

Yale hosts Columbia on Feb. 25 and Cornell on Feb. 26. Both games begin at 6 p.m. in the John J. Lee Amphitheater. The Columbia game will be broadcast in the New Haven area on WYBC (1340 AM). Coverage is available on the internet at www.broadcast.com/radio/college/wybcam.

Women's Basketball (9-14, 5-5 Ivy)

Yale suffered a heartbreaking 70-68 overtime loss to Harvard on Feb. 19 at the John J. Lee Amphitheater. The Bulldogs led for most of the second half, but a Harvard basket in the final minute forced overtime. Junior Lily Glick (Cleburne, TX) paced Yale with 18 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.

On Feb. 18 the Bulldogs lost 82-69 to Dartmouth. Freshman Maria Smear (Annapolis, MD) scored 22 points, and junior Alyson Miller (Skokie, IL) added 16 points and five rebounds.

Yale plays at Columbia on Feb. 25 and at Cornell on Feb. 26. Games begin at 7 p.m.

Men's Fencing (6-2, 1-1 Ivy)

Yale hosts Harvard and Princeton on Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. in Payne Whitney Gym.

Women's Fencing (7-1, 3-0 Ivy)

The Bulldogs host Harvard and Princeton on Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. in Payne Whitney Gym. The winner of the Yale-Princeton bout will clinch the Ivy championship.

Gymnastics (6-1, 1-0 Ivy)

The Bulldogs finished fourth in a six-team field with a score of 189.800 at the Towson Invitational on Feb. 19 in Maryland. George Washington finished first with a 194.375 total. Junior Lisa Crowley (Wilmington, MA) had Yale's top performance. She tied for second in the beam with a score of 9.75. Freshman Andrea Wolf (Seattle, WA) had an all-around score of 37.900.

The Bulldogs seek their 12th Ivy League title when they travel to Cornell for the Ivy Classic on Feb. 26.

Men's Hockey (9-11-4, 6-8-3 ECAC, 3-3-1 Ivy)

Yale fell to Dartmouth 2-1 on Feb. 18 at Ingalls Rink. Junior Joe Dart (Barrie, ONT) scored the Bulldogs' goal at the 59-second mark of the third period. Senior Cory Shea (Edmonton, ALB) had the assist. Senior Trevor Hanger (Guilford, CT) made 27 saves in goal.

Yale hosts Brown on Feb. 25 and Harvard on Feb. 26. Both games begin at 7 p.m. at Ingalls Rink. The Harvard game will be broadcast in the New Haven area on WYBC (1340 AM). Coverage also is available on the internet at www.broadcast.com/radio/college/wybcam.

Women's Hockey (6-18-1, 2-17-1 ECAC, 0-8-0 Ivy)

Yale dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to Cornell on Feb. 19 in Ithaca, NY. The Big Red scored the winning goal 2:06 into the extra session. Junior Jane Resor (Greenwich, CT) scored on a breakaway for the Bulldogs in the second period.

On Feb. 20 Yale lost 5-2 at St. Lawrence. Sophomore Sara Wood (Randolph, MA) and junior Lisa Meyers (Skokie, IL) had the Bulldog goals. Sophomore Katie Hirte (Cottage Grove, MN) made 24 saves in goal.

Yale plays at Northeastern on Feb. 26 and at Providence on Feb. 27. Both games begin at 2 p.m.

Men's Squash (14-2, 4-1 Ivy)

Yale cruised to a 7-2 victory over Amherst on Feb. 19 in Payne Whitney Gym. Freshmen Aftab Mathur (Mumbai, India) and Ziad Haider (Karachi, Pakistan) both were 3-0 winners.

The Bulldogs play Harvard in a battle for second place in the Ivy League on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Brady Squash Center and then host the ISA Team Championships on Feb. 25-27.

Women's Squash (10-4, 2-3 Ivy)

Yale finished fifth in the Howe Cup, the team national championship, on Feb. 18-20 in Payne Whitney Gym. The Bulldogs lost to Trinity 6-3 in the first round but beat Brown 9-0 and Dartmouth 6-3. Junior Laura Keating (Canberra, Australia) and sophomores Katharine Sands (Farmington, CT) and Caroline Thompson (Chestnut Hill, MA) each won all three of their matches.

Yale hosts Harvard on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m.

Men's Swimming (10-2, 7-2 EISL, 5-2 Ivy)

The Bulldogs were off last week and will compete in the ECAC Championships on Feb. 25-26 in Gloucester, NJ.

Women's Swimming (6-4-1, 3-3-1 Ivy)

Yale had the week off to prepare for the Ivy League Championships on Feb. 25-26 at Harvard.

Men's Tennis (4-2, 0-0 Ivy)

Junior Greg Royce (Rye, NY) was a three-set winner in the No. 1 position as the Bulldogs blanked Colgate 7-0 on Feb. 19 at Cullman Courts. Royce captured the third set 7-5.

On Feb. 20 Yale beat Richmond 5-2. Junior Scott Carlton (Upland, CA) was a straight sets winner in the No. 2 position.

The Bulldogs host Army on Feb. 25 at 2:30 p.m.

Women's Tennis (4-3, 0-0 Ivy)

At the Princeton Invitational on Feb. 18-20 sophomore Andrea Goldberg (Albuquerque, NM) won the consolation singles bracket. Goldberg also teamed with freshman Elizabeth Kaufman (La Jolla, CA) to win the consolation doubles.

The Bulldogs host Seton Hall on Feb. 23 at 2:30 p.m.

Men's Track

The Bulldogs were off last week and are at the Heptagonal Championships at Dartmouth on Feb. 26-27.

Women's Track

Yale had the week off to prepare for the Heptagonal Championships at Dartmouth on Feb. 26-27.

Other Notes

Yale's women's crew competed in the C.R.A.S.H.-B Sprints-Indoor Rowing World Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track Center in Boston on Feb. 20.

Yale finished with six women in the top 30 college competitors. There were 267 total competitors, including national team athletes from the U.S. and abroad. Freshman Melissa Merritt (Columbus, OH) and sophomore Shannon O'Grady (New York, NY) both made the collegiate final, finishing 10th and 11th respectively.

Yale was the only school from the E.A.W.R.C. with more than one person reaching the collegiate final.
