Yale SOM event will focus on
strategies for the 'new economy'

Top officials from cutting-edge entrepreneurial, e-commerce and Internet organizations will take part in career and networking events Wednesday-Friday, March 29-31, as part of "The New Economy Series 2000" sponsored by the Yale School of Management (SOM).

The three-day event, which is open to the public free of charge, will feature panel discussions on the future of the new economy and marketing on the Internet, as well as a job fair. Participants will include representatives from such companies as Prodigy Communication Corporation, Compaq Computer Corp., Mirror Worlds Technologies, Inc., Lexitech Worldwide, LawStreet.com, Vault.com Inc., iVillage.com, TheStreet.com, JobDirect.com and others.

The event will include:

* "What's Next for the New Economy? A Panel Discussion with Industry Leaders on Monopolies, Exponential Growth & Survival Tactics," 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the Grand Ballroom of the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale, 155 Temple St., New Haven.

* "UpStartJobFair," sponsored by MagicBeanStalk and Yale SOM, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Thursday in the Omni Hotel ballroom.

* "Branding on the Internet: An E-Marketing Discussion," 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Friday at 55 Hillhouse Ave.
