Goldblatt is reappointed as master of Pierson College
Harvey Goldblatt, chair and professor of Slavic languages and literatures, has been reappointed as master of Pierson College for a five-year term that will begin July 1.
In a letter to the Pierson College community, President Richard C. Levin noted that the reappointment was recommended by a committee of the residential college's students and fellows, which was chaired by Andrew Hill, professor of anthropology and curator of anthropology at the Peabody Museum of Natural History.
"The committee, in reporting to me, described with overwhelming enthusiasm the dedication, sensitivity and compassion that Master Goldblatt has brought to the students, fellows and staff of Pierson College," wrote Levin. "Through numerous activities in their house and in the common spaces of the college, Master Goldblatt and Associate Master Madi Gandolfo, executive assistant to the provost, have done a superb job in fostering a vibrant residential community."
Levin also expressed gratitude for Goldblatt and Gandolfo's "selfless devotion" to Pierson College.
