Goldman-Rakic honored by Dutch university
Dr. Patricia S. Goldman-Rakic, professor of neuroscience, neurology and psychiatry in the Section of Neurobiology at the School of Medicine, will receive the degree of doctor honoris causa in biology from the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands, on March 27.
Goldman-Rakic is internationally known for her research on the development, organization and cognitive functions of the cerebral cortex. She has received numerous honors, including election to the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Institute of Medicine. She is co-founder and editor of the journal Cerebral Cortex.
