Nursing professor Judith Krauss is
appointed to governor's commission

Judith B. Krauss, associate professor at the School of Nursing, has been named to the Governor's Blue Ribbon Commission on Mental Health, Expert Panel on Treatment and Intervention. Krauss, the editor of Archives of Psychiatric Nursing, is an expert on chronic mental illness. The commission will focus on four issues: how the mental health, child welfare and criminal justice systems can work together more effectively; how to maximize collaboration between state agencies and mental health experts from academic and private communities; how new knowledge can be applied toward the prevention and early identification of mental illness; and how cutting-edge treatment approaches can be incorporated into community-based programs.
