Talks explain how to apply for NIH grant
Scientists from the National Cancer Institute will present a workshop on grantsmanship and opportunities in research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on Thursday, May 11, at the School of Medicine.
The Regional Grantsmanship Workshop will be held in Harkness Auditorium of the Sterling Hall of Medicine, 333 Cedar St. It is open to members of the Yale community without charge.
The schedule follows: 9 a.m., "Changes and Trends in NIH Funding/Common Errors and Mistakes Made by Grant Applicants" by Suresh Mohla, chief of the Tumor Biology and Metastasis Branch of the Division of Cancer Biology; 10 a.m., "Extraordinary Opportunities in Cancer Re-search" by Diane Bronzert, program director for the Clinical Oncology Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program; 10:30 a.m., "Fellowships, Career Development Awards and Training Grants" by Andrew Vargosko, program director of the Cancer Training Branch, Office of Centers, Training and Resources; and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., information sessions with the individual presenters in the Beaumont, Steiner and Fulton Rooms of the Sterling Hall of Medicine.
