Diana D. Brooks resigned her position as fellow of the Yale Corporation at its June meeting. She has served since 1990.
Brooks, a member of the Yale College Class of 1972, has been a longstanding volunteer at Yale. During her decade of service on the Corporation, she served on the Corporation Committees for Development and Alumni Affairs, Buildings and Grounds, Finance, Honorary Degrees, Educational Policy, Investments, as well as the Trusteeship Committee that she chaired.
Brooks comes from a family of Yale alumni: her father, Martin Dwyer Jr., Class of 1944; her brothers, Andrew Dwyer, Class of 1971, and Martin Dwyer III, Class of 1969; her sister, Elinor Dwyer McKenna, Class of 1978; her husband, Michael Brooks, Class of 1967; and her daughter, Carter Brooks, Class of 1999.
President Levin stated, "Dede has been a devoted Yale alumna, trustee, and parent. She has been an important leader on the Yale Corporation, helping to improve many of its practices and procedures. Her service has been complemented by her generosity, represented by the Dwyer Sports Medicine Center and the Brooks-Dwyer varsity weight room at the Payne Whitney Gym as well as leadership of the Women's Table project by Maya Lin. We are exceedingly grateful for her service as a fellow."
