Course to explore formation of spirituality in children
The Annand Program for Spiritual Formation at Berkeley Divinity School at Yale will sponsor a course during the academic year 2000-01 on the spiritual formation of young children based on the principles of Maria Montessori.
Titled "The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd," the course will be held at St. Mary's Church, 5 Hillhouse Ave.
Rebekah Rojecewicz, a trained and experienced Montessorian and a nationally-prominent leader in the spiritual formation of children, will begin the course with presentations on Thursday and Friday, Sept.14 and 15, 6:30-9 p.m.
Susan Piescik, an experienced catechist, will then teach the remainder of the course on Monday evenings, 6:30-9 p.m. Piescik is director of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at St. Paul Church in Glastonbury and has been involved with the training of catechists since 1994.
