Tailgate celebrates Cozza's new book

The Yale University Press and the Yale Bookstore are sponsoring a pre-game tailgate and post-game book-signing session celebrating the publication of "True Blue: The Carm Cozza Story" on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Yale Bowl on Derby Avenue.

The book, written with former newspaper columnist and editor Rick Odermatt, offers a behind-the-scenes look at Cozza's sometimes-tumultuous 32 years as head coach of the Bulldogs. The work also includes the former coach's thoughts on how Yale and other elite schools can invigorate their football programs without succumbing to the excesses of the big-time conferences.

Beginning at noon, there will be light refreshments in the Yale Press tent in the Hospitality Village adjacent to the Yale Bowl. Copies of "True Blue" will be available for purchase until 5 p.m.

After the game, Cozza, who continues to serve as special assistant in the Athletics Department, will sign copies of his book and reminisce about his years at Yale.
