Conference at the School of Forestry to assess health of the Quinnipiac River
Area experts will assess the health of Connecticut's Quinnipiac River at a conference being held Friday, Sept. 17, at the Whitney Humanities Center, 53 Wall St.
The event -- titled "Quinnipiac River Point Source Pollution: Is It Still a Problem?" -- is sponsored by the Center for Coast and Watershed Systems at the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
The conference will bring together
experts from academia and representatives from the state government, industry and environmental organizations to discuss the history of pollution in the Quinnipiac, the types of pollutants in the river and their effects on human health, and the current permitting and regulatory process.
