Employee Day at the Bowl to launch Bulldogs' season as defending champs
The Yale Bulldogs have once again set their sights on winning the Ivy League crown, and once again, University employees and their families are invited to cheer them on via free admission to all home games at the Yale Bowl.
To kick off the new season in style, the Athletics and Human Resources Departments are sponsoring Yale Employee Day at the Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 16, when the Bulldogs take on the Dayton Flyers. Game time is 1 p.m.
From 11:30 a.m. until kick-off, Yale employees and their families can get free hot dogs, soda and cookies (provided by Yale Dining Services) in the Employee Food Tent located in the Hospitality Village across from Gate E . The first 500 employees entering the gate will receive a Yale Football T-shirt, compliments of Bulldog Blue, the official on-line catalogue of Yale Athletics (limit one per I.D.). In addition, there will be raffles and give-aways throughout the game.
This is the second year that the Departments of Athletics and Human Resources are sponsoring the Yale Employee Admission program. Staff or faculty who present their valid Yale I.D. at the employee gate located outside portal 19 of the Yale Bowl receive free admission for themselves and one other adult, as well as all youths age 14 and under. Free parking in Lot D on Central Avenue will also be available.
"The 2000 Yale Football season promises to be very exciting, and we want to share this experience with as many people as possible," says Tom Beckett, director of athletics. "Extending this invitation to all Yale employees is our way once again of saying 'thank you' for the countless contributions made to make this University someplace special. Please come to the Bowl and enjoy this 'Elm City Tradition.'"
