Service to honor memory of
Yale employee Lucy Cunningham

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, for Lucy R. Cunningham, 78, a longtime staff member at the University Health Services Center.

Ms. Cunningham, who died on Nov. 27 after a long illness, was a secretary and, later, an executive administrator at the center, working most recently in the Department of Mental Hygiene. The service in her memory will begin at 2 p.m. in Dwight Chapel, 67 High St.

Born in Milton, Massachusetts, Ms. Cunningham was the daughter of the later Roger T. and Lucy Balch Twitchell Putnam. For the past 25 years, she lived in Guilford, Connecticut. Her friends and colleagues remember her as a lover of music, gardening, birds, ocean and mountain views, and her inflatable canoe, which she named "Pirie."

Ms. Cunningham is survived by three sons: Keith D. Cunningham of Guilford, Timothy P. Cunningham of Brooklyn, New York, and Geoffrey T. Cunningham of Tolland, Connecticut; her granddaughters Leda and Megan Cunningham; a sister, Elizabeth T. Snyder of Cambridge, Massachusetts; and two brothers: Edward B. Twitchell of Peterborough, New Hampshire, and Roger T. Twitchell Jr. of York, Pennsylvania.

Gifts in Ms. Cunningham's memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 1740 Broadway, New York, NY 10019 or Connecticut Public Radio, 240 New Britain Ave., Hartford, CT 06106.
