Senior Rob Doyle (Chicago, IL), this year's captain, is Yale's leading returner. He earned first team All-Ivy honors for his seventh-place finish at the Heptagonal Championships last fall.

Sophomore Kate O'Neill (Milton, MA) was a second team All-Ivy runner last fall. She finished 14th at the Heptagonal Championships, one of four meets where she was Yale's top finisher.

Sept. 16 -- vs. Princeton , 12:30 p.m., Central Ave. Field

The New Hampshire game marked the Yale debut for head coach Ainslee Lamb, who was an assistant for the Bulldogs the last three years.

Freshman Krissy Nesburg (Oak Park, IL) made a total of 34 saves in her first two career games in goal. She had 18 saves against New Hampshire and 16 against William & Mary.

Sophomore Marissa McNaughton (Lake Grove, NY) scored her first career goal in the game against William & Mary.

Senior Christine Anthony (Oklahoma City, OK) had the Bulldogs' only goal in the overtime loss to New Hampshire.

Yale has 799 all-time wins and can become the first school to reach 800 with a victory over Dayton

Mary Moan, an assistant coach at the University of Florida the last two years, is the Bulldogs' first-year coach. She inherits a Yale team that won the Ivy League Championship last April for the third time in the last four years.

Senior Matt Schmidt (Milwaukee, WI) and freshman Justin Burton (Somerset, NJ) were named to the all-tournament team at the Brown Adidas Classic.

Freshman Geoff Hollington (Bellaire, TX) had an outstanding debut in goal for the Bulldogs. He made 11 saves, many of the spectacular variety, against Richmond and posted his first career shutout by making two saves against Lafayette.

Junior Brian Larkin (Troy, MI) scored the game-winning goal against Lafayette at 7:16 of the first half. It was his first career goal.


Women's soccer (3-0-1, 0-0 Ivy)

Sept. 2 -- Yale 5, Quinnipiac 0

Sept. 5 -- Yale 1, Fairfield 1

Sept. 8 -- Yale 7, Marist 0

Sept. 9 -- Yale 7, Stony Brook 0

Sept. 16 vs. Princeton, 7 p.m., Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium

Freshman Katherine Sims (Milton, MA) has scored seven goals in her first three games (she did not play against Fairfield). She had a hat trick against Quinnipiac in her first career game and added three goals against Marist. For her efforts, she was selected as the first Ivy League Rookie of the Week.

Sophomore Chandra King (Mission Viejo, CA), who tied for the team lead with seven goals last season, scored twice in the win over Stony Brook. She also leads the team with four assists.

Junior Sarah Peterson (Seattle, WA) and sophomore Lindsay Sabel (Danbury, CT) have combined for three shutouts in goal.

Yale has outscored its opponents 20-1.

Senior Aileen Daly (Syosset, NY) had 43 assists in the victory over Eastern Kentucky.

Junior Vanessa Herald (Pasadena, CA) led the Bulldogs with 13 kills against Eastern Kentucky.
