On Broadway

New Haven Mayor John DeStefano Jr. and Yale vice president Bruce Alexander of the Office of New Haven and State Affairs (third and fourth from left, respectively) were among those on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony during a day-long festival on Broadway on June 23. The event celebrated the latest phase of development in the Broadway retail district and featured free food from area merchants, raffles, performances by local bands and an open dance party.
