Music series kicks off with famed Chinese pianist
Fou Ts'ong, who has been hailed by Time magazine as "the greatest Chinese musician today," will launch the Horowitz Piano Series at Yale on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
Ts'ong will perform a program of works by Beethoven, Schubert and Chopin at 8 p.m. in Morse Recital Hall in Sprague Memorial Hall, 470 College St. He will also present a free master class the next day, Oct. 4, at 4 p.m. in Morse Recital Hall.
The Horowitz Piano Series at Yale features recitals by distinguished Yale faculty pianists and by renowned guest artists. The series is dedicated to the famed pianist Vladimir Horowitz, whose musical archive resides at Yale.

A renowned interpreter of Chopin, he studied under Zbigniew Drzewicki and performed extensively in eastern Europe. In 1959 he arrived in London and made his debut under the baton of Carl Maria Guilini in the Festival Hall. He has since performed around the world.
