Senior Christine Anthony (Oklahoma City, OK) scored for the Bulldogs against Cornell. It was her second goal of the season, which is second on the team.

Sophomore Suzanne Anthony (Oklahoma City, OK) leads the team in overall scoring with six points (three goals).


Football (2-1, 0-1 Ivy)

This Week: Oct. 6 at Dartmouth, noon

Senior Todd Tomich (Long Beach, CA) broke two school records in the win over Holy Cross. His 99 yards on punt returns broke the old mark of 94 which had stood for 42 years. He now has 734 career punt return yards, which breaks a 63-year-old record.

Senior Rashad Bartholomew (Palos Verdes, CA) is fourth in Division I-AA in rushing (179.7 per game). He also has five touchdowns in three games.

Junior Peter Lee (Chicago, IL), who passed for 197 yards and three touchdowns, also scored his first career touchdown. It came on a 1-yard run in the second quarter. Junior Billy Brown (East Cleveland, OH) also had his first touchdown at Yale, a 22-yard reception in the first quarter.

The Bulldogs shot 307 on the second day of the Princeton Invitational to win by eight strokes.

Junior Sarah Seo (Lima, OH) finished second at the Princeton Invitational by shooting 75-73-148. Sophomore Jordanna Davis (Syosset, NY) was fifth (156) and junior Jennifer Schriefer (Fort Wayne, IN) tied for sixth (157).


Men's Soccer (4-4-0, 1-0-0 Ivy)

This Week: Oct. 4 vs. Quinnipiac, 7 p.m., Soccer-Lacrosse Stadium

Oct. 8 at Dartmouth, 2:30 p.m.

Senior goalkeeper Danny Moss (Arlington, VA) made a very successful return from a knee injury that forced him to miss the Bulldogs' first six games. He posted shutouts against both Hartford and Cornell. Against Hartford he had three saves, and against Cornell he stopped six shots. For his efforts he was selected as the Ivy League Player of the Week.

Junior Brian Lavin (Guilford, CT) scored his first career goal in the win over Cornell, and freshman Justin Burton (Somerset, NJ) tallied his first career point against Hartford, an assist on the game-winning goal scored by sophomore Stuart Yingst (Grosse Pointe, MI).

Yale is ranked ninth in New England in the latest NSCAA poll.


Women's Soccer (6-3-1, 1-1-0 Ivy)

This Week: Oct. 7 at Dartmouth, 11 a.m.

Junior Sara Ruiz (Davis, CA) scored the game-winning goal at the 73:10 mark against Cornell. Ruiz also had an assist in the Bulldogs' victory over Central Connecticut.

Freshman Lee Anne Jasper (San Marino, CA) scored her first career goal in the win over Central Connecticut.

Yale's next five opponents (Dartmouth, Connecticut, Harvard, Notre Dame and Pennsylvania) all played in the NCAA Tournament last year.

Yale is ranked 10th in the Northeast in the latest poll.

This Week: Oct. 6-8 at ECAC Championships (at Princeton)

Freshman David Goldman (Miami, FL) lost to Cornell's Greg Artzt's 6-2, 6-0 in the A-flight finals at the Yale Invitational. Freshman Dustin West (Lynchburg, VA) won the B singles, and freshman Andrew Rosenfeld (Beverly Hills, CA) captured the C singles.

Yale and Brown tied for the Quinnipiac Invitational title. It was the third consecutive tournament title for the Bulldogs, who won the Yale Invitational on Sept. 16 and the Rider Invitational on Sept. 23.

Yale has won 21 straight games (seven matches), dating back to Sept. 19.

In the four matches last week, junior Vanessa Herald (Pasadena, CA) had 42 kills, 13 assists and 37 digs.
