Carter to discuss book on religion and politics
In his new book, "God's Name in Vain: The Wrongs and Rights of Religion in Politics," Stephen Carter, the William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Law at the Law School, argues that religious ideas should always inform political debates but that no church should try to control the electoral process.
Carter will discuss his book and this issue at a book signing at the Yale Bookstore, 77 Broadway, on Thursday, Oct. 19, at noon. The event is free and open to the public.
