Haller and Henrich reappointed as college masters
Two residential college masters -- Gary L. Haller of Jonathan Edwards College (JE) and Dr. Janet B. Henrich of Trumbull College (TC) -- have been reappointed for a five-year term, President Richard C. Levin has announced.
Their reappointments were recommended by a committee of students and fellows at the masters' respective colleges, Levin said. Their new terms begin July 1.
In a letter to the JE community, Levin said the JE committee praised Haller "for the energy and stimulating activities" he brings to the college. "Through numerous activities in their house, with special mention to arts and cultural events, Master Haller and Associate Master Sondra Haller have done an excellent job in fostering a vibrant residential community," Levin wrote.
Haller is also the Becton Professor of Engineering and Applied Science and professor of chemistry.
The TC committee that recommended Henrich's reappointment lauded her "responsiveness and genuine warmth to those within the college" and "praised her persistent efforts and strong advocacy on behalf of activities enhancing life in Trumbull," Levin said in his letter to the TC community. "The committee also expressed its appreciation of the involvement of Associate Master Vic Henrich, the Eugene Higgins Professor of Applied Science."
Janet Henrich directs the Yale Women's Health Program and is an associate professor of internal medicine.
In his letters, Levin also expressed gratitude to both review committees. The JE committee was chaired by Leon Plantinga, the Henry L. and Lucy G. Moses Professor of Music. The TC committee was chaired by Leo Hickey, professor of geology and geophysics and curator of paleobotany at the Peabody Museum of Natural History.
