Ensemble Rebel, a Connecticut-based group named after French composer Jean-Féry Rebel (1666-1747), will make its first appearance in the Yale Collection of Musical Instrument's concert series at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 2.

The group's program, titled "Inspired by Corelli: a 350th Birthday Celebration" will include music by Handel, Albinoni, Telemann and Vivaldi, along with works by Corelli himself.

The core members of the Ensemble Rebel are Jörg-Michael Schwarz and Karen Marie Marmer, violins; John Moran, violoncello; Daniel Swenberg, theorbo; and Dongsok Shin, harpsichord.

The group has appeared throughout the United States and Europe at prestigious festivals and concert series, and has an extensive list of critically acclaimed recordings on the Harmonia Mundi and Dorian labels. It was awarded first prize in the Fifth International Competition for Ensembles in Early Music (the van Wassenaer Competition) in 1991.

Ensemble Rebel's performance will take place in the second-floor gallery of the Collection of Musical Instruments, 15 Hillhouse Ave. Tickets are $20 for the general public; $15 for senior citizens and Yale staff; and $10 for students. For information and ticket reservations, call (203) 432-0825.
