Search committee named for Yale College Dean
President Richard C. Levin has appointed a committee to search for a new dean of Yale College. The current dean, Richard Brodhead, is stepping down from the post at the end of the current academic year to assume the presidency of Duke University.
The committee is chaired by Joseph Roach, the Charles C. & Dorathea S. Dilley Professor of Theater, and includes Donald Brown, the Philip R. Allen Professor of Economics; John Gaddis, the Robert A. Lovett Professor of Military and Naval History; Glenda Gilmore, the Peter V. and C. Vann Woodward Professor of History; Gary Haller, the Becton Professor of Engineering and Applied Science and master of Jonathan Edwards College; Christine Hayes, professor of religious studies; Frank Keil, professor of psychology and master of Morse College; Pauline Jones Luong, assistant professor of political science and director of undergraduate studies (DUS) for the Program on Ethics, Politics & Economics; Stephen Pitti, associate professor of history and DUS of American studies; Ramamurti Shankar, professor and chair of the Department of Physics; and Scott Strobel, professor and DUS of molecular biophysics and biochemistry.
