| While faithful in most regards to the real University, the creators of the Yale campus used in episodes of "Gilmore Girls" still make use of artistic license -- as demonstrated by this painted background, which is in no way modeled on Yale.

Yale's California Campus
The Warner Brothers show "Gilmore Girls" kicked off the season with the main character, Rory Gilmore, leaving for Yale, where she will live in a fictionalized version of Calhoun College.
Rory's Yale adventures have so far concentrated on moving in and finding the best coffee, pizza and Chinese food in town.
All of the Yale scenes are filmed on a set at the Warner Brothers' studios in Burbank, California, where a pseudo-campus has been created from photographs of the real thing.
