Employees can change benefit options during Open Enrollment period
Yale faculty and staff can select the benefits that best suit their needs for the upcoming calendar year during the annual Benefits Open Enrollment, which begins Saturday, Oct. 15.
To review, enroll, cancel or make changes to medical and/or dental programs and flexible spending account election(s) for 2004, Yale faculty and staff simply need to log onto the website at www.yale.edu/hronline/selfservice/. This page is a gateway to a growing number of employee transactions and interactive information processes that are now available online.
New this year is the inclusion of the Employee Benefits Statement, an electronic document which provides a listing of individuals' existing benefits and their value for the current year. According to Sheila Millea, applications systems analyst, the online Employee Benefit Statement will be available year round. All benefit-eligible employees will be able to access the website anytime and print their own Employee Benefit Statement for reference.
To access the Self-Service function from the entry page, simply click the red button labeled My Personal Information. The system is designed to work with any of the popular web browsers. As before, the initial logon screen is controlled by Yale Central Authentication Service for improved security. Users must enter a NetID and password to access personal information or complete transactions.
The Faculty and Staff Self-Service website will be available through Nov. 14 (enrollment in Flexible Spending Accounts will remain open through Dec. 31). Note: there will be a brief outage during the weekend of Nov. 8-9, due to a scheduled system upgrade. Those with questions or comments should send e-mail to benefits.office@yale.edu.
