There will be a memorial service on Sunday, Oct. 19, for Shafali Lal, a doctoral student in American studies, who died on July 19 in Tennessee.
The service will take place at 2 p.m. at the Varick AME Zion Church, 246 Dixwell Ave. Following the ceremony, there will be a reception in the Presidents Room of Woolsey Hall, corner of Grove and College streets.
