Historian is term member
of foreign relations council

Michael Auslin, assistant professor of history, was elected a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations in June.

The Term Member program is designed to engage promising young leaders in a sustained conversation on international affairs and U.S. foreign policy. The program allows younger members to interact with seasoned foreign policy veterans as well as participate in a wide variety of events designed especially for them.

Auslin was also selected as a 2004-05 fellow of the U.S.-Japan Leadership Program. The program, run by the U.S.-Japan Foundation, aims to foster a continuing dialogue among the next generation of leaders in each country. It brings together some 20 young participants from each country for two intensive weeklong conferences over two years.
