Vice President and Secretary Linda Koch Lorimer joins dignitaries from the UAE government and Zayed University in congratulating a graduate of the Executive Management Certificate Program during graduation exercises in Abu Dhabi.

Building Yale ties in the Middle East

A Yale delegation traveled to five countries in the Middle East during December in an effort to promote the University in the region.

The group included Vice President and Secretary Linda Koch Lorimer; Daniel Esty, the Hillhouse Professor of Environmental Law and Policy; George Joseph, assistant University secretary for international affairs; and Mia Reynolds, director of external affairs for the Yale World Fellows Program.

The Yale World Fellows Program held outreach events in Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon and Qatar. The delegation met with academic, business and political leaders in the region, including an official visit with His Royal Highness Shaikh Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Lorimer and Joseph also visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where Lorimer delivered two addresses, including one at the graduation of the Executive Management Certificate Program, a collaboration of the Yale School of Management, Zayed University and the UAE Ministry of Finance and Industry.
