Artist's exhibit at Slifka Center will examine complexity of faith
"Expressions of Faith," an exhibition of street and digital photographs by New York native Ned Harris, will be on display June 13-Aug. 23 in the Allan and Leah Rabinowitz Gallery of the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale, 80 Wall St.
Harris is the principal of a New York graphic art firm and an art curator. His book, "Form and Texture: A Photographic Portfolio," was recognized by the Art Director's Club of New York.
Over the past 30 years, Harris has gained renown for his ability to capture the essence of New York through his photographs. In "Expressions of Faith," Harris explores the complexity of faith in photographs that range from life on the streets of New York to the aesthetic potential in computer technology, with a focus on the artist's Jewish heritage.
Harris will speak about his work at the opening reception for the show, to be held 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 18. His talk will take place at 2:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The gallery is open 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
