SOM faculty members to discuss their book 'Murder in the Model City'

Douglas Rae, the Richard S. Ely Professor of Organization and Management, and Paul Bass, lecturer in media at the School of Management, will read from their book "Murder in the Model City" on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m.

The event will take place at CHOW, 966 Chapel St. Snacks and beverages will be served. Tickets are $5.

Thompson's 'Tango' nominated for book award

Robert Farris Thompson, the Colonel John Trumbull Professor of History of Art, has been nominated for a Connecticut Book Award for "Tango: The Art History of Love."

The awards, presented annually by the Connecticut Center for the Book, a program of Hartford Public Library, recognize and honor authors who "represent the best writing, illustration and design in, or about, our state in the previous calendar year."

The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2-3:30 p.m., in the atrium of Hartford's City Hall, 550 Main St. For more information, call (860) 695-6320 or send e-mail to klyons@hplet.org.
