Yale announced $500 million investment in facilities to support science and technology research and education, and a $500 million investment in facilities for the Yale School of Medicine.
Yale Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics created.
Yale dedicated Class of '54 Environmental Science Center, a 99,000-square-foot building representing an investment of $42 million, including $25 million from the Yale College Class of 1954's 54/50 Fund.
Yale establishes Center for Genomics and Proteomics with $5 million space renovation and seed funding, followed by $3.8 million for Phase II funding in June 2006. This center has generated in excess of $55 million in new outside grant funding.
Committee on Yale College Education recommends expanded science teaching.
Anlyan Center for Biomedical Research and Education opened. This 457,000-square-foot building represents an investment of $177 million.
