There will be a memorial service on Friday, Aug. 10, for Helen Simpson Culler, a longtime member of the Yale community, who died on July 13.
She was the wife of A. Dwight Culler, the Emily Sanford Professor Emeritus of English, who passed away in January of 2006.
The two met as graduate students at Yale and were married in 1941. They returned to the University in 1958, when Dwight Culler joined the Yale faculty. Helen Culler is survived by their children, Elizabeth Culler of Hamden and Jonathan Culler of Ithaca, New York; and three grandchildren: Lea Morrison, Kai Morrison and William Culler-Chase.
The service will take place at 3 p.m. at Whitney Center, 200 Leeder Hill Dr., Hamden, CT.
