V.P. Shauna King announces changes in Office of Finance and Administration Shauna King, vice president for finance and administration, has announced a realignment of responsibilities within her office. "I am committed to not only continuing, but accelerating, the effort to strengthen the labor-management partnership at Yale," said King. "Together, in the spirit of collaborative problem solving and Best Practices, we will build on the excellent foundation that has been laid over the past three years. To that end, we are realigning responsibilities for increased focus in this key area." Ralph Craviso will report directly to King as special assistant for workforce effectiveness. In addition to managing the traditional labor-management relations function for the University, he will assume the administrative responsibilities for Yale's Best Practices Program and become a member of the Labor-Management Initiatives Steering Committee. Paula Wilson, director of Best Practices, who reports to the Labor-Management Policy Board, will report administratively to Craviso. Craviso came to Yale in May with "a demonstrated track record of success in transforming traditional labor relations into a cooperative collaboration between management and labor," said King. "By expanding his responsibilities, we will be taking advantage of his experience to promote an environment and a set of practices across the University that enables successful labor-management partnering." All other aspects of Yale's human resources function, led by Rob Schwartz, associate vice president and chief human resources officer, "will continue to support the University community in a broad range of areas and initiatives while continuing to improve this vital organization," said King. She concluded that Schwartz's and Craviso's leadership "combined with the dedicated efforts of many people in both labor and management, will accelerate the creation of a more effective and satisfying work environment for all Yale employees."
