Jeffrey Sonnenfeld cited as a business school ‘All Star’
Jeffrey Sonnenfeld of the Yale School of Management (SOM) was named as a "B-School All-Star" in the
Aug. 22 issue of Newsweek.
Sonnenfeld, who is senior associate dean of executive programs and the Lester
Crown Professor in the Practice of Management at SOM, was cited as one of 10
global business school professors
“who are influencing contemporary business thinking far beyond the halls of
academia.
“Every domain has its all-stars, and business school is no exception,” wrote Dan Macsai in the article. “For more than 50 years, inventive professors … have revolutionized their fields, all the while honing a new generation of
genius. But making a large-scale impact in the business world is never easy,
even for seasoned academics.”
Sonnenfeld’s research contributions in such areas as corporate governance, chief executive
officer (CEO) succession and executive careers
“have made him a prominent authority on management and leadership,” said the article, which also cited the professor for his role as founder,
president and CEO of the Yale Chief Executive Leadership Institute, also known
as
“the world’s first CEO college.”
