Workshop to feature Ohio State law professor
The Quinnipiac-Yale Dispute Resolution Workshop series continues on Friday, Nov. 30, with a lecture by Ohio State Law School Professor Ellen Deason on “A
Framework for Comparison: Building a Taxonomy of ADR System Analysis and Design.”
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held noon-2 p.m. in
the Quinnipiac Law School faculty commons. Lunch will be served. To reserve a
space, call (203) 582-5299.
Deason specializes in the fields of dispute resolution and law and science. She
has co-authored casebooks for Civil Procedure and Alternative Dispute Resolution
and in 2005, was appointed reporter for the National Conference of Commissioners
on Uniform State Laws’ drafting committee for a Uniform Act on Misuse of
Genetic Information in Employment and Insurance.
Deason was a law clerk for Judge Harry T. Edwards on the U.S. Court of Appeals
for the District of Columbia Circuit and Justice Harry A. Blackmun of the
U.S. Supreme Court. She also was a legal assistant to Howard M. Holtzman, an
arbitrator on the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal.
The Quinnipiac-Yale Dispute Resolution Workshop is a collaboration between the
two law schools to host lectures by distinguished scholars and practitioners
in the field of dispute resolution. The talks are structured to allow time for
questions and discussion. For more information, contact Jennifer Brown at (203)
