New business trends in biopharmaceutical industry to be explored by panel
A special Yale-CURE BioHaven presentation will give venture capitalists, entrepreneurs
and the Yale community a chance to look into the future at the next generation
of medical therapeutics.
The panel discussion will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at 5 p.m. in the
Anlyan Center auditorium at 300 Cedar St. The program will feature presentations
by leading industry observers on new trends in business formation.
Roger Longman, managing partner of Windhover Information Inc. and a leading
expert in biopharmaceutical deal-making, will serve as moderator.
The panelists are:
William Burkoth, the senior manager of venture capital of Pfizer Venture Investments,
Pfizer Inc., and a board observer for five Pfizer-supported new ventures.
Richard Flavell, professor and chair of immunobiology at Yale, as well as professor
of molecular, cellular and developmental biology, a Howard Hughes Medical Institute
investigator and a founding scientist of Vaxinnate.
Haifan Lin, professor of cell biology, director of the Yale Stem Cell Center
at the School of Medicine, and an internationally recognized stem cell researcher.
David Sheer, president of Sheer & Company Inc., a venture capitalist and
expert in life sciences company formation.
Refreshments and networking will follow the discussion at 6:45 p.m. Admission
