Show features paintings of city scenes by Constance LaPalombara
NOTE: "The City," an exhibition of paintings by Constance LaPalombara at the Whitney Humanities Center, has been postponed because of construction delays at 53 Wall Street. The opening is now tentatively rescheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m. Further details will be announced as they become available.
LaPalombara, a landscape and still-life painter, is well known for her city
scenes of New Haven, where she lives. Her artwork has been the subject of 25
one-person shows as well as of numerous group shows, and was chosen for publication
in the book “Artists Next Door: A Great City’s Creative Spirit.”
She has received several grants and awards, including an Artists Fellowship
from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts and an Ingram Merrill Award in
Painting. She is also a member of Connecticut Women Artists, the Connecticut
Watercolor Society and the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts.
