Patrizio is elected president of fertility preservation society

Dr. Pasquale Patrizio, professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Services at the School of Medicine and director of the Yale Fertility Center, has been elected to serve as president of the Society for Fertility Preservation.

The society is a special interest group of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. His term will begin in October.

At the Yale Fertility Center, Patrizio has helped develop a new form of the egg-freezing technique known as oocyte cryopreservation, which helps preserve the fertility of women who have been diagnosed with cancer and will be undergoing chemotherapy or radiation.
