Seven faculty honored with election to AAAS
Seven faculty members from the School of Medicine have been
elected as fellows of the American Associate for the Advancement of
Science AAAS in recognition of their efforts toward advancing
science or fostering applications that are deemed scientifically or
socially distinguished.
Founded in 1848, the AAAS is the world's largest federation of
scientists, with more than 144,000 members. The organization
publishes the weekly, peer-reviewed journal Science. This year, 283
new fellows were elected nationwide.
Those elected from Yale are:
- Dr. Emile L. Boulpaep, professor of cellular and molecular
physiology.
- Dr. Edwin C, Cadman, professor of medicine, and senior vice
president of medical affairs and chief of staff at Yale-New Haven
Hospital.
- Dr. Peter Jatlow, professor and chair of laboratory medicine
and professor of psychiatry.
- Dr. Keith A. Joiner, professor of medicine, chief of the section
of infectious diseases and professor of cell biology and epidemiology
(microbiology).
- Dr. Michael Kashgarian, professor of pathology and biology.
- Dr. Robert J. Levine, professor of internal medicine, lecturer
in pharmacology and chair of the Human Investigation Committee.
- Dr. Vincent T. Marchesi, the Anthony N. Brady Professor of
Pathology, professor of cell biology and biology, and director of the
Boyer Center for Molecular Medicine.
