VISITORS MAY GAZE THE GALAXY AT YALE'S OBSERVING STATION

Visitors to Yale's observing station in Bethany, Connecticut, will have the opportunity to view the moon, planet and stars during an open house on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. Viewing instruments include Yale's 20" reflector and 8" refractor.

To get to the observing station from New Haven, follow Whalley Avenue towards West Rock and stay on Rt. 63 while driving past the entrance to the Wilbur Cross Pkwy./Rt. 15. From here, continue driving on Rt. 63 for 6.1 miles, then make a right onto Hilldale Road. The observing station is located about 1/2 mile down the road on the left.

The event is free and open to the public. If the sky is partly cloudy on the day of the open house those planning to attend should call the Astronomy Hot-line at 432-9887 after 4 p.m., as full cloud cover or rain will force cancellation.
