Reading will feature short play about a Generation X heroine

"The Girl Triptych," three interwoven short plays about a Generation-X heroine, will be the next offering in "Yale Playwrights at the Rep: Plays by the Graduating Class," a play reading series sponsored by the School of Drama at the Yale Repertory Theatre.

Written by Janet Malia Allard, "The Girl Triptych" tells the tale of a young woman whose curiosity and passion leads her into encounters with a dessicated Don Quixote, the Real Estate Queen of the Western Hemisphere, a decaying academic and a fallen Southern belle, whose most cherished secret is slipping away. In this journey, Ms. Allard proves that there is "nowhere a girl with a stick of dynamite can't go." Actors participating in the reading will be announced several days prior to the performance.

"The Girl Triptych" will be presented at 7 p.m. in the lounge of the Yale Repertory Theatre, 1120 Chapel St. The readings are free and open to the public; however, reservations are required due to space limitations. To make a reservation, call 432-1570.
