Community invited to hear about plans for new Yale Clinical Practice Group

Due to changes in the health-care field in recent years, the School of Medicine is restructuring its clinical enterprise. A series of information sessions have been scheduled to discuss the planning for the new Yale Clinical Practice Group YCPG.

Among the topics to be discussed at these sessions is the structure of the YCPG organization, its governance, its relationship to the clinical departments and the general principles that will guide the organization and allow the medical school to develop an efficient and productive integrated group practice. The meetings are sponsored by the Yale Faculty Practice and the Office of the Deputy Dean for Clinical Affairs.

The featured speakers at the sessions will be Dr. Joseph B. Warshaw, deputy dean for clinical affairs and professor of pediatrics; Dr. David Leffell, medical director of Yale Faculty Practice Dermatology and associate professor of dermatology and surgery otolaryngology and plastics surgery; Dr. Frederick Naftolin, chair of obstetrics-gynecology and professor of biology; Dr. Norman J. Siegel, vice chair and section chief of pediatrics nephrology; and Ellen C. Skinner, director of managed care and marketing at the Yale Faculty Practice Plan.

The sessions will be held in the auditorium of Brady Memorial Laboratory, 310 Cedar St., at the following dates and times: Wednesday, May 21, 7:30-9 a.m.; Thursday, May 22, noon-1:30 p.m.; Tuesday, June 3, 5-6 p.m.; and Wednesday, June 4, 7:30-8:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
