Graduation: The Video

If you feel your own photos and videos don't fully capture the pomp and circumstances of Graduation Weekend, take heart: A video featuring highlights of Class Day and Commencement is available.

The Yale Commencement Video includes footage of every graduate passing through Phelps Gate, President Richard C. Levin's Baccalaureate Address and the Class Day speech by historian and biographer David McCullough '55, as well as other Class Day activities and the Commencement exercises. Scenes of campus are shown to the music of "Bright College Years."

Professional camera crews captured the events on tape for Collegiate Video, an enterprised co-owned by Yale alumnus Jonathan Swinchatt '57. Once edited, the company's videotape will be at least one hour long.

The Yale Commencement Video is available to members of the Yale College Class of 1997 and families, who must return the order forms previously provided to them in order to receive a copy. The cost if $45 plus $6 for shipping and handling. The video will be shipped by the end of August. For further information, call Collegiate Video at 203-250-9311.
