For his contributions to the New Haven community, Michael J. Morand, assistant secretary of the University, has been selected as a winner of the third annual "Forty Under 40" award.
Sponsored by Business Times, the award recognizes 40 New Haven area businessmen and businesswomen who have demonstrated a commitment to their communities. The 31-year-old Mr. Morand coordinates Yale initiatives in support of education, health and other human development programs in New Haven.
Outside of Yale, he serves as president of the board of directors for the New Haven Free Public Library and is a member of the boards of directors for the Arts Council of Greater New Haven, the Q-House, Vision for a Greater New Haven and Dwight Hall at Yale.
