John Hollander, Sterling Professor of English, will read from, discuss and sign copies of his new book, "The Work of Poetry," on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 4-
5:30 p.m. at Book Haven, 290 York St. Refreshements will be served.
"The Work of Poetry," recently released by Columbia University Press, is composed of 23 essays that explore, among other concepts, the true art of poetic imagination, the subtle powers of language and the natural gifts of the canon's most celebrated poets through close readings.
Professor Hollander has written numerous volumes of poetry and won the prestigious Bollingen Poetry Prize.
