Martin Bresnick, coordinator of the School of Music's composition department and music director of New Music New Haven, has been named director of the Composers' Forum of the East, a program of the Chamber Music Conference at Bennington College. The Composers' Forum, which is designed to expand the involvement of amateur musicians in contemporary music, commissions three composers-in-residence to create works which are premiered at Participant Musicales. "We are honored and very excited to have Martin Bresnick as director of our Composers' Forum," said Shen Guibory, music director of the forum. "With his generous and brilliant personality, and his broad knowledge of 19th- and 20th-century repertoire, he is a tremendous addition to the conference."
